Stardew Valley’s next big update, version 1.4, is coming out soon. The update is set to feature the highly requested ‘separate money’ option in multiplayer along with a new farm map.

The way money currently works in multiplayer is that all earnings are shared equally between all players on the farm, regardless of how much each player earns. Obviously, this can cause some issues if you’re working hard to bring home the metaphorical bacon while your other players are off doing other things.

The 1.4 update is set to change that, as shown in the image in ConcernedApe’s tweet. The screenshot shows a player called Buster earning 1,000,000g ‘on his own’.

Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has said that you can toggle money sharing on or off by simply going to the Mayor’s house in town. Existing multiplayer farms will have money sharing still turned on by default, but new farms will have the option available at the start.

ConcernedApe has also confirmed that the new farm map, Four Corners, will be available in single player mode. He also confirmed that while PC users will get the 1.4 update first, console and mobile players will also get the update.

If you’re thinking of picking up Stardew Valley, it’s currently down to just $10.96 on GoG.com. It’s also on Steam for the usual price of $14.99.
