evil cortana

Digital Voice Assistant Cortana is one of the key features of Windows 10 Mobile, but it turns out she can also be one of the reasons you are reaching for the charger by midday.

Speaking on twitter, Gabe Aul confirmed that due to a bug in the Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview she may be causing “super high” usage in the background.

He writes:

Unfortunately the work around seems only to deactivate Cortana at present.

Cortana can be de-activated by simply going into the settings of the Cortana Notebook (via the hamburger menu) and tapping the on and off toggle.

Have any of our readers run into this issue?
