Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Tech Summit will be held in Maui where the tech giant is expected to announce the new Snapdragon 865 SoC. The new SoC will be the successor to the existing 855 SoC. While Qualcomm did announce 855+ this year, the company has no plans to announce 865+ at the moment.
While there’s still time, a new leak has from Weibo has revealed the specs of the upcoming SoC. The Snapdragon 865 will be an octa-core processor with a Cortex-A77 core clocked at 2.84GHz, three Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.42GHz, and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. In terms of GPU, the SoC will have an Adreno 650 GPU clocked at 587MHz.
The Snapdragon 865 will be 20% faster than the 855 and the Adreno 650 is also expected to be about 20% faster. The Snapdragon 865 is expected to launch with and without X55 modem which should give a significant download speed boost.
