OnePlus recently announced some cool new features that will be introduced in OxygenOS in the coming days. These new features will be available only in India and not other parts of the world as OnePlus labeled them as “India-centric” features.

OnePlus is currently dominating the premium smartphone market in India with a market share of 42 percent, according to Counterpoint Research. Therefore, it makes perfect sense for the company to bring something unique to the table — features that’d be very useful to Indian users.

The company is working on a new feature called Smart SMS. With this new feature, you’ll be able to categorize up to 39 types of messages such as tickets, bills, bank messages, and perform quick actions that include tasks like “copying OTP or calling delivery boys.”

Cricket is a sport that entire India follows and OnePlus is working on a feature that will be very useful to all the cricket lovers across the country. OnePlus users will be able to get real-time updates on all the major cricket matches and tournaments. Users will also be able to customize their favorite teams and all of these will be possible from your OnePlus smartphone. That right, there is no need to install any app to get those update.

Moreover, OnePlus is working on a SIM-free global mobile data service. This feature will be beneficial to those who love to travel. “Travel whenever and wherever without being left stranded. No need to purchase a specific SIM card or worry about data bandwidth and international roaming, access OnePlus Roaming without an internet connection,” the company wrote in a forum post.

Another new feature is what OnePlus called “Work-Life Balance.” The main aim of this feature is to let you assign your apps to Work mode or Life mode and automate them with location, Wi-Fi networks, and schedule. Your OnePlus device will take care of the rest by not letting work notifications spoil your moments with friends and family.

Lastly, OnePlus is working on an “improved Gallery with automatically sorted pictures and cloud storage.” The feature will sort pictures into small albums “based on the recognized faces, their time, stamps, locations or people you’ve been with.” And all of these will be possible without the need of an internet connection. OnePlus also promised to give users 5GB of free storage and an additional 50GB storage that will be valid for the first year.

OnePlus, however, haven’t clarified when these features will be coming to the OxygenOS, but we might see them in the upcoming OxygenOS 10 Update.
