A couple of weeks ago, we reported on how Minecraft: Story Mode is being delisted from all digital storefronts in the wake of Telltale’s closure. However, do we have a hot new deal for you!

Right now, you can get each episode of Minecraft: Story Mode on Xbox 360 for just $99.99 an episode. That’s right – just $99.99! What a steal!

On a more serious note, don’t try buying the episodes, because you will be charged.

On a less serious and more explanatory note, there’s an actual reason behind the extortionate price.

In their previous announcement on Minecraft.net, Mojang explicitly stated that all episodes will be permanently pulled from digital storefronts on June 25th, 2019.

If you own any episodes of either season, you should re-download them before June 25th, or else it’ll be gone forever. Like, forever forever. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

While in the process of delisting Minecraft: Story Mode from digital storefronts, it turned out that removing the episodes from Xbox 360 storefronts meant that the content couldn’t be re-downloaded by Xbox 360 users.

As such, the episodes have been temporarily re-uploaded, so people who had previously purchased them could re-download them. However, the episodes have also been given a super high price point in order to deter any more purchases of the game.

A more in-depth explanation has been posted on the official Minecraft: Story Mode Facebook page.

If you’ve got money to burn and you’re super into Minecraft, then feel free to buy the episodes before June 25th! Just be aware, like I said before, buying the episodes will cost you $99.99 an episode. So just be careful.

The delisting of Minecraft: Story Mode and the removal of Telltale’s catalog from GOG is due to the studio shutting down. Telltale sadly began to close down last year, with many of its games disappearing from online stores soon after.

It is extremely likely that more Telltale titles will be pulled from other digital storefronts in the future, due to licenses expiring and various other reasons, so if you’re looking to pick up a digital copy of a Telltale title, don’t delay.
