Nokia has introduced a new range of Windows Phone handsets this year, but due to using a new range of quad-core processors by Qualcomm it has not been very clear to Windows Phone users from the last generation whether they will get improved performance when they upgrade or not.

Users of the Nokia Lumia 920 for example would expect an upgrade to the Nokia Lumia 830 to bring a slimmer device with expandable memory, a better camera and improved processor, but its not clear of the Quadcore Snapdragon 400 processor (which is after all also used on the 630) is actually an upgrade over the Qualcomm S4 used on the 920.

Reddit user The Flat Dog has set out to test this, and has posted the above 9 minute video comparing app launch and resume times between the 830 and 920. Overall performance seems pretty comparable, which is of course a bit of a let down, but for some apps like Skype the 830 does resume much faster.

Does the video encourage or discourage our 920 readers from upgrading to an 830? Let us know below.
