I think even by Windows Phone standards the $299 Nokia Lumia 1020 is moving slowly, based on the absence of the initial shortages which seems to plague every significant Windows Phone launch.

A lower price will probably help, making it good news that Amazon.com is edging the price down 10%, from $299.99 to $269.99, of course on contract.

The commitment-free price is actually higher however, at $699.99, but if your goal is to get your hands on the handset as cheaply as possible Amazon, for now, appears to be the place to go.
