Just in time for the Lumia 950 and Continuum for Phones, popular multi-format video player MX Player is now available as a Universal Windows App.

The player is an official port of MX Player for Android but contains only a subset of Android version’s features, but the developers are working hard to support as many features and promise a more complete version soon.

At present it supports

  • MicroDVDSubtitle (.sub)
  • TMPlayerSubtitle (.txt)
  • PowerDivXSubtitle (.psb)
  • WebVTTSubtitleBasic (.srt)
