I’ll just say it: Garfield Kart is getting a sequel.

Let’s start at the beginning, when Garfield Kart became a thing. The year was 2013, President Obama was inaugurated for his second term, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were released, and Garfield Kart came out on iOS, Android, Nintendo 3DS and Steam.

Garfield Kart was, sadly, not a well received game.

That’s all hopefully set to change, though because Garfield Kart – Furious Racing is due out on the 5th of November, 2019. Or the 7th, if you’re in Europe.

In comparison, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding comes out on the 8th, so your November is going to be filled with sheer terror and racing delight. You can decide which is which.

Garfield Kart – Furious Racing will have 3 game modes (Grand Prix, Single Race, and Time Trial), up to 4 player local co-op split-screen multiplayer, up-to-8 player online multiplayer, 16 circuits, 9 attack and defence bonuses, and customisation options. There’s also full controller support for the Steam version.

The character roster consists of 8 potentially iconic characters that you might know and perhaps love: Garfield, Odie, Jon, Nermal, Arlene, Liz, Harry, and Squeak.

There’s no word on microtransactions. However, Artefact, Microids, if you’re reading this – I’ll pay extra if Garfield can ride a giant lasagne.

Garfield Kart – Furious Racing is apparently due out on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 5th (or 7th). You can wishlist it on Steam here.

There are already several Amazon listings complete with questionable box art for the console versions (thanks, Wario64!) if you want to get your pre-order in early.
