Mojang starts Minecraft cat competition; winning cat gets put in the game

Minecraft developers Mojang have started a competition worthy of all pet lovers’ attention: get your cat in Minecraft.

Posted on the developer’s official blog, the Minecraft Cat Contest asks entrants to simply take an image of their furry feline and post it on social media with the hashtag “#Minecraftcatcontest”. The competition will stop accepting entries on November 12th, so make sure you take the cutest cat picture before then. I’m voting for this moustached fellow.

There are no stated criteria for what type of cat they’re looking for, but the final kitty will be chosen by the community. After the final three are picked, they will be subject to public voting on social media, battling for both humiliation and fame.

The winning cat will be announced on November 19th.
