Update: The update is now live. You can download the Minecraft beta with mouse and keyboard support from the Xbox Insider Hub. In an interview, Mike Ybarra said that more games are coming with mouse and keyboard support to Xbox One in the future.

Minecraft is an incredibly popular game and it works well with an Xbox One controller. However, given the fact that you have a select numerous items in your inventory can be a slight issue with a thumbstick. Well, that may be about to change. Minecraft is getting an upgraded version which allows cross-play between various platforms. Well, this upgrade comes with the benefit of using a mouse and keyboard…well, using a mouse and keyboard in the beta. It’s unclear if the developers will let Xbox One owners use a mouse and keyboard for Minecraft when it comes out of beta.

If you listen to the podcast, one of the developers clearly states that the Minecraft beta on Xbox One supports mouse and keyboard input. You can view the video above which is bookmarked to that statement. Here’s hoping that mouse and keyboard support makes its way to the final release too and it’s not just a perk for beta testers. We’ll let you know as soon as we know more.
