Along with Arrow Launcher, Microsoft updated one of its other popular Android apps — and that is, of course, Next Lock Screen. With the latest update for Next Lock Screen, Microsoft is adding improved notifications to the lock screen. The update also introduces some improvements for the weather widget within the lock screen. Most importantly, however, the update dramatically improves battery life, GPU performance, and memory usage which should offer a lot better performance for users. Here is the full changelog for the latest update:

  • Improved notifications and weather
  • Dramatically improved battery life
  • Improved GPU performance
  • Improved memory usage
  • Fix bug sometimes Next load slowly

For those unfamiliar, Microsoft’s Next Lock Screen is one of the best lock screen apps for Android with more than 1 million downloads. The app features some neat features such as Custom Unlock, which allows users to use the fingerprint scanner on their phone tp unlock their device. Additionally, Next Lock Screen also shows Notifications on the Lock Screen — and if that wasn’t enough, you can also call your “favorite” contacts right from the lock screen which is also very nice. There are some other features on the app, including the ability to control music right from the lock-screen, being able to view the weather or view the calendar right from the lock screen.

If you are a Next Lock Screen user, you can get the latest update (version 3.9) on your Android phone from the Google Play Store here.
