Key notes
- Trusted Signing is a fully managed end-to-end signing solution that allows 3rd party developers to easily build and distribute secure applications.
Back in 2022, Microsoft first announced Azure Code Signing. During the announcement, Microsoft mentioned that Azure Code Signing will democratize code signing for all developers. After testing the service in private preview for almost 1.5 years, Microsoft today announced the public preview of the service. Along with the public preview, Microsoft is also introducing a new name, ‘Trusted Signing’. Trusted Signing will be Microsoft’s fully managed end-to-end signing solution for developers, backed by a Microsoft managed certification authority.
Microsoft Trusted Signing features:
- Simplifies the signing process with an intuitive experience in Azure
- Zero-touch certificate lifecycle management that is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 compliant.
- Integrations into leading developer toolsets.
- Supports Public Trust, Test, Private Trust, and CI policy signing scenarios.
- Timestamping service.
- Content confidential signing – meaning digest signing that is fast and reliable – your file never leaves your endpoint.
During the public preview phase, Trusted Signing service will be free. After June 2024, the below pricing plans will become active:
