Windows 10 is set to be released tomorrow. Ahead of the official launch, Microsoft has started downloading Windows 10 for users who reserved it. The Windows 10 files are available on theĀ $windows.~BT — and the folder size is roughly 6GB. We’ve also started seeing reports that Windows 10 is being downloaded for some users – however, there isn’t any report on any install just yet.
This isn’t a surprise,Ā really – Windows 10 launches tomorrow and if a lot of users start downloading the OS, Microsoft’s servers will be under high load. And to avoid that, Microsoft is downloading it ahead of the release. That means that if your PC has theĀ Ā $windows.~BTĀ folder, Windows will simply install the OS tomorrow.
It’s worth noting that you shouldn’t try to open the setup.exe — it’ll cause all the files on that folder to get removed.
Do you have theĀ Ā $windows.~BTĀ folder yet? Let us know in the comment section below.
Thanks for the image, David!
