Work environment and productivity factors have changed over the past decade. Most companies rely on cloud solutions for their security and privacy. Considering this, Microsoft has launched a dedicated cloud PC device to increase productivity. Windows 365 Link was first announced at Microsoft Ignite 2024. This device takes minimal effort to install and can be easily configured. Once installed, it can help an organization to improve productivity, reduce overall expenses, and add additional layers of security.

Post-installation, it is used by desk workers or frontline workers; they can sign in using their access to Windows 365 and operate their devices more securely without leaving any data on local storage. The pricing of this device is as follows: MSRP of AUD639 in Australia, CAD519.99 in Canada, EUR419 in Germany, JPY56,800 in Japan, NZD739 in New Zealand, GBP349 in the United Kingdom, and USD349.99 in the United States.
The new shared mode is designed for users who need occasional cloud PC access, such as for inputting inventory information or sending or uploading data for businesses. The organisation can choose which model to operate, dedicated or shared. Microsoft has also promised business and partner API access so that they can build migration tools. Updates on API are yet to be announced.
