The next feature coming to Microsoft’s popular Android app launcher, Microsoft Launcher, may be a custom 3rd party lock screen for your smartphone.

On UserVoice, Microsoft marked a request to implement such a feature as Completed only a few weeks ago.

Microsoft does actually have a custom Android lock screen in the form of Next Lock Screen, but this Microsoft Garage project did not really catch on and is not under active development.

Of course, custom lock screens are usually not that popular, due to placing a significant load on handsets and the potential of slowing down your handset when performing an action one does hundreds of times per day.

Do our readers think Microsoft can get it right or are they better off leaving this difficult area alone? Let us know below.
