Microsoft today announced two major changes coming to Xbox One users. First, Microsoft is releasing redesigned Home experience and a new way to support Xbox voice commands to improve the voice experience.

Microsoft is introducing a new experimental Home design. In this new Home experience, Microsoft has removed the Twists from the top of Home in favor of separate buttons. Microsoft believes that this experience will allow you to jump into Xbox Game Pass, Mixer, Xbox Community and Microsoft Store quicker than ever. Microsoft is also now displaying your recently played titles more prominently. This new experimental Home experience will roll out this week to select Xbox Insiders in our Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead rings.

Microsoft is removing the ability to talk to Cortana via your headset. If you want to use any Xbox Voice command, you need to use the Xbox Skill for Cortana via the Cortana app on iOS, Android, and Windows or via Harmon Kardon Invoke speaker. And yes, you can also use Alexa-enabled devices. Microsoft is planning to improve the Xbox Skill across supported digital assistants to expand Xbox voice capabilities in the future. This update will roll out to our Alpha Skip Ahead ring and will fully rollout to all users this fall.
