Gaming network Steam has released their hardware survey numbers for the month ending June 2019 and like many numbers in recent months, it does read as good news for Microsoft’s latest operating system.

According to the latest numbers, Microsoft’s latest Operating System Windows 10 has managed to capture over 70% of the market share. Windows in total is dominating with over 96% which includes Windows 10 64-bit (70%), Windows 7 64-bit (21%) and Windows 8.1 64-bit (2%). Apart from that, MacOS has 2.75% of the market share and is followed by Linux which sits at 0.76%.

The latest numbers definitely indicate that gamers are preferring Windows 10 over other OSes including Mac and Linux. The Steam survey, however, is done on a voluntary basis so it doesn’t show the complete picture. Nevertheless, it’s definitely good to see Windows 10 topping the Steam charts with positive growth.

Operating System is not the only parameter covered by Steam in their survey. If you’re interested in check out other parameters like CPU, GPU and VRAM then you can head to Steam’s survey page for the full survey results.
