Microsoft appears to be making a concerted effort to bring their mixed reality headset to the real world.

Its latest appearance was at the Martine Jarlgaard London fashion show where the traditional runway was replaced by attendees wearing HoloLens headsets which allowed them to see pre-scanned models, allowing them to explore the couture from much closer than usual while still being able to engage with the other attendees.

“For me it’s very important there’s a link to reality; that you don’t remove yourself completely. It’s quite a desirable thing – you still have your point of reference, but there’s another layer on top,” said Jarlgaard

Jarlgaard, the Fashion Innovation Agency at London College of Fashion worked with 3D capturing company, DoubleMe to create the demonstration and will show  the full spring/summer 2017 collection using 5 headsets.
