It’s no secret that Halo 5’s next update is right around the corner, but it looks like it’s coming even sooner than previously expected – and with some big additions in tow.
Officially announced in this week’s Halo Waypoint community update, the next update to the game is bringing in announcer voice packs as DLC. The three new announcers are Buck (a character from Halo 3: ODST who went on to become a Spartan in Halo 5), Yabda The Merciless (a grunt), and 031 Exuberant Witness (the Monitor for Genesis in Halo 5’s campaign).
All three of these voices will be available in “Voices of War” – a REQ pack that’s simply DLC by another name. It’ll cost $9.99, and can not be unlocked with REQ points. You’ll get all three voices at once by purchasing the pack, so you won’t have to worry about paying for up to three blind bag purchases to get the announcer you want.

All three announcers will be available for all multiplayer modes, too, so you’ll be able to enjoy their chatter in both Arena and Firefight. They’re also the only additional content you’ll have to pay for in the next update, too.
When it comes to other details and hints dropped about the next update to Halo 5, Ske7ch (the 343 Community Manager) said that it would include new REQs, new features, and big additions to Forge. It’s been known for a while that this update would include the option to browse and join custom games, which is a gigantic change alone.
Finally, it was mentioned that the update would be coming in a few days. More information will be coming on December 6th (next Tuesday), so be sure to keep an eye out for news!
