Google launched its India-first payments app Tez last September. Since its launch, over 750 million transactions were done by users using this app. Now, Google is planning to bring the Tez experience outside of India. First of all, Google is unifying all of Google’s payment offerings globally. As a first step, Tez will be rebranded as Google Pay.

Apart from the rebranding, Google is not making any other changes to the Tez app. Google is also planning to make Google Pay even more useful by increasing the number of places you can use it in, expanding services for merchants, and working with banks to provide instant loans to Google Pay users.
