Back in 2014, Microsoft was working on an 7.5-inch Surface tablet and they cancelled it before even it was shipped. Earlier this year, we saw some real-life images of this cancelled product along with some details. Today, @evleaks posted an official render of Surface Mini and its full tech specs. As you can see from the image above, Surface Mini would have come in three different colors including Red. Like other Surface tablets, it had a kickstand that supports 3 positions.

Microsoft had two variants of this tablet, one with 1GB of RAM and another with 2GB of RAM. And both of the running Windows RT 8.1 powered by Snapdragon 800 processor. With very apps in Windows Store at that time, Surface Mini would have offered a poor overall experience when compared to Apple iPad Mini. I’m glad that Microsoft decided not to ship this product to the market.

Do you think Microsoft should release a mini tablet in 2018 with full Windows 10 running on Snapdragon 845 processor? Would you be interested?
