It seems everyone is getting their pre-E3 announcements in shortly before the expo kicks off next week. Even if it hasn’t leaked, developers have revealed several new games over the past few days. One of today’s announcements includes Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo unveiling the next iteration in their iconic fighting series Dead or Alive.
According to IGN, Dead or Alive 6 will utilize a new engine, making the visuals and character models look more realistic than previous entries in the series. Team Ninja is aiming to have the game run at 4K resolution, though it was not revealed on which consoles. Longtime fans don’t need to worry about any drastic changes to its core gameplay as that aspect has largely remained the same.
Characters confirmed to be returning are Kasumi, Hayate, Hayabusa, Helena, Jann Lee, and Zack. New fighters will be introduced to the final roster as well, but we’ll need to wait until a later date to see them as the team is still in early development on the game.
Dead or Alive 6 is expected to release next year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
