Microsoft earlier announced a skip ahead “ring” for Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring in July, allowing them to skip ahead of the current Windows Insider builds, and jump to pre release builds as well as receive early updates to in-box apps like Groove, Mail and so on. On the day it was announced, Microsoft’s Insider team made it very clear that spaces on this were limited and that not everyone who wants in would be able to get a space. It seems that the entry window has now closed (no pun intended).

For those who missed out, you’ll be able to receive rs_prerelease builds later when Microsoft begins to roll out the Fall Creators Update to non-Insider users in general. This is, to be fair, how Microsoft has been doing it in the past as well, so there is arguably no harm done.

Did you gain access to the skip ahead “ring” before it closed? Let us know in the comments below.
