A few days ago we published a story claiming Windows Mobile had a 90% smartphone market share in Korea. One effect of this dominance is that, instead of cars coming with iPod connectors, they rather come with connectors for popular Windows Mobile handsets, like the super high end Samsung T*Omnia.
The T*Omnia shares a lot with the Samsung Omnia, but also features an 800×480 3.3 inch screen, digital TV and an 806 Mhz processor. When in the car it integrates with the Bluetooth car kit and also allows management of some of the BMW’s iDrive features directly from the device.
One can only hope similar features make it outside Korea so we can also have a justification for buying a BMW 7 Series an an expensive charger for our phones 🙂
