The Android 16 Beta 3 update brings us closer to the final release, but it still lacks some features. One of the most asked ones is Battery Health, on which Google has been working for some years now, despite Apple having it since forever.
Now, Google introduced a new “Battery Health” feature in Android 16 Beta 3, which provides Pixel users with detailed information about their device’s battery health. Yes, Pixel users, at least for now.
How can I access the feature on my Pixel?
To access this feature, navigate to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. Here, users can view an estimated percentage of their battery’s current capacity compared to when it was new. For instance, a capacity rating of 100% indicates no degradation, and lower ratings indicate worse battery health.
The Battery Health tab also includes links to battery care articles with recommendations on extending battery life. It includes a shortcut to Adaptive Charging settings so that users can enhance their charging habits by enabling features like limiting charges to 80% to keep the battery healthy.
This feature is now being released to Android 16 Beta testers on supported Pixel devices. Its launch signals Google’s attempt to give users greater awareness and control over device maintenance, hopefully bringing it to all Android devices soon enough.
