Update: It looks like Xbox Wire has made a mistake and the Amnesia: Collection isn’t coming to Xbox One next week after all. A spokesperson for the developer told Windows Central:
“Unfortunately the news of the game releasing on August 31 was incorrect. But please stay tuned, as we will release more news on September 7. Hope you enjoy playing Amnesia: Collection when it becomes available!”
Original: Before Frictional Games developed the haunting survival horror SOMA, the studio’s claim to fame was its Amnesia series. According to Xbox Wire, the Amnesia: Collection appears to be receiving a surprise release on Xbox One next week, as nothing was previously announced beforehand but it has been included in the website’s list of games coming soon.
The Amnesia: Collection compiles The Dark Descent, its Justine expansion, and A Machine For Pigs. They already came to PS4 a couple of years ago, but better late than never, right? As Xbox Wire, states, this series practically “kickstarted the Let’s Play revolution.”
It is set to release for Xbox One on August 31, 2018. The Microsoft Store doesn’t have a listing for it just yet, so we don’t know what the Amnesia: Collection will be priced at. Over on the PlayStation Store, it usually goes for $29.99, though it’s currently on sale for $11.99.
