Are you a user of OneDrive for web? Well, Microsoft is finally adding one thing that’s been on other platforms for quite some time: the ability to access OneDrive files offline! No internet needed!

We’ve spottedĀ an entry on the Microsoft 365 RoadmapĀ site. The feature, called literally Files On-Demand, is currently in preview and will be rolled out to all users on the web’s version in December 2023 ā€” just likeĀ the macOS version last year.

Files On-Demand for Web allows you to select which files and folders you want to be available offline on your device. Once you’ve selected these files and folders, OneDrive will download them to your device so that you can access them even when you’re not connected to the internet.

We’re expecting that this feature will work just like on other platforms. So, to use Files On-Demand for Web, you’ll have options to either download files as you use them or download everything altogether.Ā

Elsewhere in OneDrive, the popular cloud storage is alsoĀ getting its AI-assistance tool, Copilot, just like any other Windows app.

Plenty of capabilities are on the card, but two of the most impressive things you can do with it is use AI to summarize long email threads andĀ write emails that sound like you.
