ASUS ROG today announced the Zephyrus M, the world’s slimmest gaming laptop powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8750H processor with 16GB of DDR4 2666MHz dual-channel memory and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. To satisfy the storage needs of gamers, it features a 256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD and an additional 1TB Seagate FireCuda SSHD storage drive.
Another main highlight of the Zephyrus M is its ultra-responsive 15.6-inch IPS display. This display comes with a superfast 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 72% NTSC color gamut and NVIDIA G-SYNC technology for smooth and accurate visuals.
ASUS has also designed an improved thermal management system to keep the laptop cool during heavy gaming sessions. It features the new Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) to improve cooling performance under high load.
The cutting-edge AAS allows the Zephyrus M to run cool and quiet without sacrificing performance. Much like the first Zephyrus (GX501), when opening the lid a portion of the bottom chassis flexes 9mm high to increase airflow. Compared to traditional laptop designs, the AAS creates 20% more space for air circulation, increases airflow by up to 32%, and reduces internal temperatures by up to 20%.
Also, the ROG-exclusive software will allow gamers to switch between integrated and discrete GPU modes: the Optimus power-saving mode increases the battery life, while the G-SYNC mode synchronizes frame delivery for smoother gameplay without tearing.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M (GM501) is now available for pre-order in the United States. You can pre-order it here from Amazon.
