At last, Microsoft announced the general availability of Windows Phone 8 SDK for developers. The SDK and the tools are free to download. The Windows Phone Software Development Kit (SDK) 8.0 provides you with the tools that you need to develop apps and games for Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.5.
Windows Phone 8 Emulator requires:
- Windows 8 Pro edition or greater
- Requires a processor that supports Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)
Also the Windows Phone Emulator runs on Hyper-V which requires 64bit processor and some more stuff. If your system is not capable of running Hyper-V, you can still install SDK without enjoying the emulator.
