Back in 2018, Vivo showed the world how to hide the notch by introducing Vivo Nex, the world’s first smartphone that came with the pop-up selfie camera. Larter on, Huawei, Oppo, and many other manufacturers followed suit by introducing the pop-up selfie camera on their smartphones.
And now, according to a recent leak, Vivo is all set to set the bar high once again by introducing Vivo Nex 3, which will have over 100 percent screen to body ratio. Leakster Ice Universe claims that “The Vivo NEX 3 is probably the highest screen-to-body ratio phone in 2019. The Screen-to-body Ratio is over 100% based on the “display area/projected area” calculation method.”
There exists a cliche in the tech industry that Smartphones have reached a stage where they don’t need any further innovation to be cool — they managed to attain perfection. In other words, we hardly see interesting innovation coming to smartphones these days and while there is room for debate on the cliche, there are smartphone manufacturers who are constantly pushing the envelope to innovate in many areas of smartphones, Vivo being one such company.
Coming back to Vivo Nex 3, we are not aware of the details of the rest of the hardware inside the smartphone. The launch date is also not known at this moment. We’ll keep you posted on any further update about the smartphone.
