I am not sure how far we can rely on the tweets of an anonymous Verizon twit, but it is still welcome to hear Verizon expressing some excitement for “windows 7 mobile”, after the company has been rather dismissive of the OS so far, for  example saying the company will “probably release a phone in 2011” and in October saying “Microsoft is not at the forefront of our mind.”

Hopefully this will translate into a Verizon Windows Phone 7 smartphone early in the new year, with a Sprint CDMA devices expected around this time also.

Are our Verizon readers as excited as the company? Let us know below.
