Do you have a Nokia Lumia and wish your battery would last longer? Sure there are other tips out there but today we add another one to the list.  You could always add a few more minutes or an hour to your battery life by disabling LTE on your device. Why would you want to do this? Maybe you don’t use LTE, you live in an area that isn’t covered by LTE or maybe you just don’t want to waste your battery by frequently searching for LTE.

How to disable LTE on your Nokia Lumia

As simple as this may seem, there is no built in seetings option to disable the feature but you could do so by entering the Field Test menu. This process is really simple and before you try this please remember that it’s extremely dangerous messing around with your device’s built in settings, So only enter the menus as instructed and DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE.

The steps are as follows:

1.Enter Field test mode on your device by typing ##3282# in the dialer.

2.You should receive a message giving you a warning, just click accept.

3.You will now see a list of values show up, ignore them and open the appbar and click on settings.

4. Change your network type to automatic,2G,3G, or 4G depending on your preference.

Note:I have not tested this and so far I have only seen it tested on a Lumia 1020 but I see no reason why it shouldn’t work on any other Nokia Lumia device.
