We don’t post too many concepts these days, in part because there is no point in posting Windows Phone concept designs anymore and because we did not think there is much you can do to make a laptop more exciting.
Industrial designer Emad Rahimi has however proven us wrong on the second point with his Surface Vision concept design, which can be seen in full above.
He envisions a 7 mm flexible device which is all screen, with virtual control surfaces and no buttons or physical keys.
Equipped with 2 USB-C ports, a pen and not much else, he expects the virtual keyboard to include special shortcut keys which would make quick work of any productivity challenge, a bit like a souped-up touch bar on the new MacBook Pro.
Rahimi notes that these days the gap between concept and reality is getting ever smaller (see the Yoga Book and Surface Book for example) making concepts like these far from unrealistic.
