In an unexpected turn of events, a recent leak surrounding Mortal Kombat 1 has stirred up excitement among fans. According to leaked information from a Brazilian fan, a brand-new single-player mode named “Invasions” seems to be making its way into the game.

The leak was initially spotted on a Reddit post in the Mortal Kombat leaks community r/Mortalkombatleaks, where an image of the back of the game’s pre-order box was shared. This image, believed to be from a Brazilian retailer, revealed captivating details about the upcoming mode.

The leak also confirms that Invasions will be replacing the Krypt, which was a single-player mode in previous Mortal Kombat games. The Krypt was a hub world where players could explore and collect items. It is not clear why NetherRealm Studios decided to replace the Krypt with Invasions, but it is possible that they wanted to create a more action-packed and challenging single-player experience.

“Travel through the realms of Mortal Kombat facing invasions of each season in an all new single player experience,” the mode’s description reads.

Though, the main concern now, is if Invasion is a seasonal update mode. Will it feature battle passes? Who knows. Only time will tell. But until then, we’re welcome to speculate.

Mortal Kombat 1 will be released in September 2023 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PCs.
