Microsoft’s real tablet OS shown off

Engadget has caught up with Microsoft at Computex and was shown their new REAL tablet OS, Windows Embedded Compact 7, in a Tegra 2 powered demo device.

The demo unit had a custom social-network based UI, but also showed off a pretty good browser implementation and media gallery.

Now if we were Microsoft (which unfortunately we are not 😉 ) we would standardize on something like this very rapidly, plug in the Zune media ecosystem ad get this in the hands of people ASAP.
