Microsoft today released a Chrome extension that brings the new Bing image search information directly into the web pages you browse. You see an image on a website and if you want to learn more about it, using Bing Image Match you can simply hover over that image on the website, and find other websites where that image appears and related content; all in an overlay without opening new tabs or leaving the website you’re on.
Here’s how it works:
After installing the Bing Image Match extension, go to any website and hover over any image. You’ll see a search icon appear in the upper right hand corner of an image. Click this icon to activate Bing Image Match extension You’ll see a search icon appear in the upper right hand corner of an image. Click this icon to activate Bing Image Match extension. You’ll see an overlay, which will include the different versions of the identical image available on the web for the image that you selected. You’ll also see a representative description for the image, so that you can always search for it on Bing using the description. Finally, you’ll see related images so you can have fun and explore more related images.
