A while back Microsoft made the unprecedented step (for Windows Phones at least) of pushing out an OS update directly to their Windows 10 Mobile users without any carrier intervention. That was Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.29, and this had to be halted ultimately due to an issue with a small number of handsets being unable to receive and install the update, but after a week and some tweaks Microsoft was eventually able to resume the roll-out.
Now WBI reports that Microsoft is pushing out the latest build of Windows 10 Mobile, Build 10586.36, to all Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL customers, regardless if they are Insiders or not.
In Gabe Aul’s words:
This build continues to address feedback we’ve received from Windows Insiders as well as customers using our brand new Windows 10 phones like the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
The updates should start downloading automatically at some point, though my 950 XL has just started installing 10586.29, so it may be a step-wise process.
Have any of our readers who are not Insiders had the update yet? Let us know below.
