Microsoft has finally welcomed the Activision Blizzard team after months of energy-consuming back-and-forth acquisition saga. The question is, when will Call of Duty games arrive in Xbox Game Pass?

The Redmond-based tech giant has just closed the deal today, on October 13, not too long after UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) greenlit the acquisition without cloud gaming rights.

But it seems like Microsoft is being careful when it comes to bringing Call of Duty games to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Speaking in the official announcement, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that the development has begun, but it will take some time before they are ready for Xbox Game Pass release.

“Today we start the work to bring beloved Activision, Blizzard, and King franchises to Game Pass and other platforms. We’ll share more about when you can expect to play in the coming months,” he says.

Not too long ago, Activision was also spotted “preparing” to release Call of Duty games to the subscription plan.

When users tried to purchase a Call of Duty title on Microsoft Store, they were greeted with a message that says, “You receive this item for free with your gaming subscription. Continue to check out and use it forever!”
