Microsoft today announced the support for the Web Authentication spec in Microsoft Edge. With this support, Microsoft Edge users will be able to sign in with their face, fingerprint, PIN, or portable FIDO2 devices through Windows Hello, instead of passwords. With the recently released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17723, Microsoft Edge supports the CR version of Web Authentication with support for a wider variety of authenticators than other web browsers that are currently available in the market.
