Microsoft Brad Smith

Alex Stamos, the former security chief of Facebook holds the view that Facebook can operate better if it appoints a new face as the CEO. Stamos at Collision Conference in Toronto said that Mark Zuckerberg should hire a new CEO. And according to the former security chief, the role will be best suited to Microsoft’s current president Brad Smith.

“He should hire a CEO that can help signal both internally and externally that the culture has to change,” Stamos suggested.

Stamos went on saying, “There’s a legit argument that he has too much power.”

“He needs to give up some of that power. If I was him, I would go hire a new CEO for the company.”

Facebook has been in the center of controversy for various reasons ranging from interference in US’s presidential election in 2016 to leaking millions of users’ personal data without their consent. Long story short, Facebook developed a bad reputation in the users’ mind over the past few years.

But this not why Stamos want Zuckerberg to call it a quit. He said that Zuckerberg should shift his focus to building products and hand over the lead role(CNBC).

The former security chief, however, didn’t specifically mention any reason behind his choice of picking Brad Smith as the Facebook CEO.
