LG Display’s recent announcement regarding its 27-inch 480Hz QHD Gaming OLED display at CES 2024. Here is what Samsung revealed yesterday.

The display employs LG Display’s OLED technology, enabling individual pixels to emit light independently without a backlight unit. This technology delivers a groundbreaking 480Hz refresh rate, QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440), and an impressive response time of 0.03ms, enhancing the gaming experience significantly.

LG Display incorporates its advanced ‘META Technology,’ utilizing a ‘Micro Lens Array (MLA)’ to optimize OLED panel light emission and minimize external light reflections, enhancing image quality, particularly in darker scenes.

LG Display’s Gaming OLEDs emit the lowest levels of blue light in the industry, approximately half the amount of premium LCDs. This reduction minimizes eye fatigue, eliminates flickers, and offers more comfortable and enjoyable gaming sessions.

The 27-inch 480Hz QHD Gaming OLED display is scheduled for release in the year’s first half. LG Display also plans to unveil a complete lineup of Gaming OLED displays in various sizes (27, 31.5, 34, 39, and 45 inches) at CES 2024, marking its entry into the high-end gaming display market.

Finally, LG Display offers a range of Gaming OLED displays with different sizes and features catered to specific purposes. The 34- and 39-inch displays provide an immersive gaming experience with an ultra-wide (21:9) aspect ratio. On the other hand, the 31.5-inch panel supports a UHD (3840×2160) resolution, making it suitable for gaming, office work, and content consumption.
