Update: Forza Horizon 3 consistency enters the top charts in the United Kingdom. For example, for the week ending on July 15, Forza Horizon 3 managed to snag the No. 6 position.
Forza Horizon 3 is a force to be reckoned with in the racing world. Every since it came out in 2016, the title has been making ways in sales charts and even now, months after release, it continues to do so. Last week, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Micro Machines World Series came out, while these titles evoke a lot of nostalgia and were purchased by gamers in droves, Forza Horizon 3 managed to break the No. 4 spot, just behind Grand Theft Auto V. This is surprising because racing games don’t usually perform this well months after release.
If you look at sales charts from the United Kingdom, Forza Horizon 3 has performance consistency since its release. This is mostly due to the fact that it’s a quality title. The game received glowing reviews when it came out and that propelled sales. Nowadays there’s a growing misconception among gamers that reviews don’t matter but if a game gets above a 90 on Metacritic it does really well in sales. People who would never have thought about giving a title a chance will pick it up based on review score alone. Quality titles keep on selling and games like Forza Horizon 3 is proof of that, despite its genre.
