Microsoft recently rolled out a pretty major overhaul for the Windows Store’s UI. The update from last week made the Windows Store look pretty weird — but as we mentioned, that update was probably building up to the Fluent Design revamp. Today, Microsoft started rolling out a new update for the Windows Store to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring — introducing the new Acrylic material.

Acrylic, for those unfamiliar, is essentially blurring the background of apps. In the Windows Store app, the whole background includes the Acrylic material and all of the UI elements are in a card UI as you can see in the screenshots above. The changes does make the Windows Store look a lot prettier, but there are a lot of small things that Microsoft will need to polish out. In the meantime, you can check out the new look of the Windows Store below:

Microsoft also seems to have added some parallax effects to parts of the app, but those aren’t easily noticebale as of yet. If you are a Windows Insider in the Fast Ring, make sure to check for updates on the Windows Store to get the new Fluent Design changes.
