Enterprises choose Microsoft Office 365 over Google Apps

According to Gartner Research on the use of cloud email tools, large enterprises are choosing Microsoft’s options almost twice as much as Google’s.
According to Gartner who tracked the email server addresses of about 40,000 public companies across the globe, only 13%, or 5200 of these companies used Microsoft’s and Google’s cloud tools, with 8.5% choosing Microsoft and 4.7% using Google. The remaining 87 % used on-premise, hybrid, hosted or private cloud email setup.
The research also shows that Microsoft’s Office 365 is more popular with larger organizations including utility, energy, and aerospace markets whereas Google Apps for Work is more popular with smaller companies in highly competitive markets such as software publishing, retail, advertising, media, education, food and beverage, and travel industries.
