Elon Musk wants $30/month out of your pocket to try SuperGrok and the best of Grok 3

Elon Musk and his xAI company have just launched a new subscription tier: the SuperGrok, which will give you the best of its latest Grok 3 flagship model.

If the rumors are true, SuperGrok, also referred to as Grok Pro, will cost $30 per month or $300 per year and will include features like unlimited image generation, improved reasoning, and research queries. That’s $10/month more than Copilot Pro and even ChatGPT Plus.

The update introduces new Voice (as Musk promised) and Thinking modes, with “Thinking mode” requiring photo library permissions. SuperGrok will also give you a free 3-day trial, and access to Grok 3 reasoning may be exclusive to subscribers.

The Grok 3 family model comes in variants: Grok 3 reasoning, Grok 3 mini, and Grok 3 mini reasoning.  

Described by Elon Musk as “scary smart” during its developmental stage, Grok 3 outperforms competitors like Gemini 2 Pro and GPT-4o, achieving the highest Elo score of 1400 in the Chatbot Arena. It also doubled its capacity using 200,000 GPUs and underwent extensive training, making it significantly more advanced than Grok 2.

Grok 3 is accessible through various subscription plans on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

The primary options are X Premium, priced at $8 per month or $84 annually, and X Premium+, at $16 per month or $168 annually. Both subscriptions provide full access to Grok AI, with Premium+ giving benefits like an ad-free experience and faster access to new features.
