Update: Assassin’s Creed Origins will be the best on Xbox One X according to the developers. The title features increased draw distances and more foliage. Even the developers acknowledged that the best console version is on Xbox One X and not PlayStation 4 Pro. They even went as far as to call the Xbox One X version the most beautiful version of the game. The normal version is around 42 GB on Xbox One so expect the Xbox One X version to be much more with the 4K textures and other enhancements.

Assassin’s Creed Origins runs at 4K on Xbox One X. We all knew that. Well, what we didn’t know is that the console is so powerful that even though there’s a built-in option to downscale the game during heavy load times, it still doesn’t do that. Speaking with We Write Things, producer Julien Laferriere said:

“We always like to have new toys to play with. Our friends at Microsoft were kind enough to build the Xbox One X. It’s a really cool machine. What it enables for us is we built a dynamic resolution system. What that does on Xbox One X is it enables us to render the game in full 4K. The world we crafted on 4K is amazing. That’s just one of the things we can now do on Xbox One X.”

A few weeks ago some outlets reported that there would be no difference between the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions but that’s not really true. It’s great to see Microsoft’s hardware shine. This is another reason to pick up Assassin’s Creed Origins on Xbox One and then play the Xbox One X version when the console comes out! We can’t wait. What about you?
