Back in 2017, Alexa was first launched in India. Until now, English is the only language that is supported in Alexa for Indian users. Amazon today announced that it is adding support for Hindi language in Alexa Skills Kit (ASK). Hindi is a popular language in India with over 260 million native speakers. With today’s announcement, developers can build voice experiences for Alexa in the new Hindi language model.
Amazon is also allowing OEMs who want to develop Alexa Built-in products for Hindi-speaking customers in India to join the Alexa Voice Service (AVS) developer preview. Developers who have their Hindi-language skill certified for publication in India before July 31 will receive exclusive Early Bird Alexa merchandise. Learn more about it here.
