update 1

WindowsMania.pl reports that the very latest update to Windows Phone 8.1 will make it easier on those who have limited storage, either because they used it all, or because they just bought one of those 4GB devices currently shipping.

From their investigation of the WP8.1 Update 1 registry, the OS  will now be able download updates to the microSD card if internal storage is not enough.

I suspect the move will make the possibility of a bricked device more likely, but it will also help Microsoft compete in the super-low end segment of the market against Android, which is a very important growth strategy for Windows Phone.
