The move is part of Microsoft moving away from IE11 support, will all Office 365 web apps set to end IE11 support August 17, 2021.

Microsoft warns after the above dates, customers will have a degraded experience or will be unable to connect to Microsoft 365 apps and services on IE 11. For degraded experiences, new Microsoft 365 features will not be available or certain features may cease to work when accessing the app or service via IE 11.

Microsoft recommends network admins move to Microsoft Edge, saying that the company has done a lot of work integrating IE11 support into the browser, to maintain the investment companies have made into IE11-only web apps.
